Membership Benefits

The real value in Soil Science Australia membership is being part of a professional network dedicated to improving knowledge and care of the Australian soil resource.  There are many other benefits, see the list below, which will provide you with value and assist you with your professional development and understanding of soil science.

As a member of Soil Science Australia you will become a member of the International Union of Science.  You will also have the opportunity to become a member of a branch and attend branch events.  The branches are Queensland, New South Wales, Riverna, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.

Leading soil scientists are recognised through awards of excellence with categories for early career and established soil scientists.  Soil Science Australia recognises that our future leaders will need training and support and grants are available for attendance at national and international conferences for both undergraduates and graduates for this purpose.  More recently soil jugding competitions have been established to foster learning outside of lecture rooms and make the study of soils more engaging for students with team competitions at the national conference and the IUSS congress.

Soil Science Australia welcomes new members and also suggestions on how to add value to your membership. Send your enquiries to  The Membership tab provides additional information and to join use the link Join Here on the home page.
